One of which was the Fujinon 60mm f/2.4 R Macro XF. That’s a mouthful (as all their lenses are). It was the first tele lens for the X-mount, and though it’s not new, continues to generate some buzz. ( Other than images featuring the reviewed lens, all photos taken with it on an X-E2 – mostly at 2.8, few at 2.4)

In this video we do a quick comparison between the new Fujifilm 56mm f/1.2 WR against the older Fuji 56mm f/1.2. New Fuji 56mm lens - https://bhpho.to/3dBvxY
Manufacturer description: Velvet 56 is a 56mm f/1.6 SLR and mirrorless camera lens with 1:2 macro capabilities. This "new classic" portrait lens delivers a velvety, glowing, ethereal look at brighter apertures, and beautifully sharp but subtly unique images as you stop down -- with gorgeous, velvety tones that give digital images a film-like, organic quality.
Fellow Fujifilm shooter Alik Griffin is using the new REALA ACE film simulation on his Fujifilm GFX100 II. According to him, this is the best Fujifilm film simulation so far. My favorite Fujifilm Film Simulators have been Classic Chrome, Provia, and Astia. Those are what I almost always use before applying presets to any images I have.
The 56 F1.2 can be faster and still not be fast. I usually shoot my son's basketball games with a 50-140 or a 16-55 at f/2.8 in a dimly lit gym. The "whole new lens" talk got me thinking that maybe things had changed since the last time I tried shooting fast moving subjects with the 56 on an X-T1 body.
Beautiful Made Better. The Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR Mirrorless Lens is the first X Mount lens to feature 11 diaphragm blades, which results in a clean, almost perfectly circular aperture, even at F4 or F5.6. The result is a clean edge along a highlight, with minimal aberrations and distractions, that is especially pleasing when it is out of
The 56mm f/1.2 is quite simply a magnificent lens however it's not necessarily a beginner lens as it can be a little tricky to use. Unless you plan to use it extensively at f/1.2, I'd suggest a Fuji's equally wonderful 50mm f/2 or the terrific 50-140 f/2.8.
